What brings you to Our Society?
I'm the founder of the CAN-do Project. It's a social Enterprise aiming at promoting local community innitiatives such as VCS to the local community. I'm looking for the people with a can do attitude, a knowledge base, people who aren't the 'gatekeepers' of information but who instead can help spread the word about the good ideas in areas to other areas.
We also promote with incentives smalll local business to help regenerate and create employment posts.

Paul I mentioned this yesterday

Paul the model we've been using, that is the business model, is to use our revenue to invest in stimulating a given local economy, typically by means of microenterprise, as for example in Tomsk Russia.

From the UK and our local government there's a very clear impression of 'not invested here' with their spinning out microenterprise development to a for profit quango who say "it's a completely new way of doing things". God help us!

As the moment, things aren't so good

This took my interest in the context of our own work and the 'what are you doing' group.

We're a founder member of the SEE what you are buying into which in spite of the time and effort produces no enquiries.

Hi Paul & welcome to Our Society!

This network is in the early stages of development so we'd very much appreciate any
comments or suggestions that you have. I've set up a Feedback Forum for this, so please do share your thoughts there.

You can read a bit more about Our Society and what we hope to achieve by having a read of Our Purpose and our About Us page.

As a quick way to get the ball rolling, why not read our Getting Started info, and please take a moment to tell us a bit about yourself in the "Who are you?" thread.

Thanks again for joining, please contact me if you have any problems, and do feel free to set up your own group or discussion - I'm happy to assist with either.

~ Sophie
